Arrival / Dismissal Times and Procedures

Student Arrival Hours

Students eating breakfast in the Cafeteria

  1. Earliest arrival time is 8:20, students must be in the Cafeteria only.
  2. Breakfast is served beginning at 8:20.
  3. Students are released to playground at 8:30 when supervision begins.

Students NOT eating breakfast in the Cafeteria

  1. Earliest arrival time is 8:30, students must go to the playground, they are not allowed in the halls or around the buildings.
  2. Duty teachers are available beginning at 8:30, there is NO SUPERVISION prior to 8:30.
  3. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR STUDENTS TO ARRIVE PRIOR TO 8:30 a.m., if students arrive prior to 8:30 they will be brought to the office and a parent or guardian will be called to pick them up.

Student Dismissal Time

  1. The dismissal bell rings promptly at 3:00 p.m.
  2. Duty teachers supervise dismissal until 3:15 p.m, at that time any remaining students are taken to the office..
  3. Students walking home from school must depart immediately at dismissal, please speak to them about using the cross walks.
  4. Students who are picked up must be picked up from school promptly at 3:00.
  5. Students who are still on campus at 3:15 will be taken to the office and contact numbers will be called, please be sure all contact numbers are kept current..

APS Policy reads as follow

Students who are not picked up within 15 minutes of dismissal will be considered abandoned and school police will be called to pick up the students.  Students will then be taken to a designated state shelter.

2 Hour Delay Schedule

  1. You will receive a recorded message from the Parent Link system should there be a delay due to weather.
  2. Students may arrive at school no earlier than 10:30 and the morning bell will ring at 10:45.
  3. The schedule for the day will pick up at 10:30 and progress like a normal school day.
  4. BE REMINDED THAT BREAKFAST WILL NOT BE SERVED ON A DELAYED DAY.
  5. CHILDREN'S CHOICE FOLLOWS THE APS SCHEDULE AND WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON DELAYED MORNINGS.
